Greetings my name is Rico Dence and I have been a Christian for over 25 years.
The past 2 years have been the hardest years in my life. Though series of events and including being diagnosed with a chronic cancer, vision issues, bad roommate, and becoming homeless. I learned that eversince 1st grade I had on and off undiagnosed depression.
Imagine a 5000 piece puzzle spinning in your head as fast as a tornado, and tying to grab three end pieces to start. I needed to slow down. After going to group therapy and taking no medication. I learned how to cope with everything I was dealing with.
On Thanksgiving, my friend from Gordon College and I were hiking. We sat down to talk. God gave me the idea to create a project to help equip church leaders when people were struggling.
With prayer and many discussion, God gave me the idea about traveling the USA to interview pastors on what they teach to encourage others during difficult times.
The Coping Project goal is to gather information and use the knowledge to help church leaders to gain some new perspective and learn way how to approach people who might need counseling, and freedom from emotional bondage. The ultimate goal is they can learn to love God more, and love their neighbor as themselves.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22: 37-40
